Most in demand jobs in the usa
Health care and green technology fields offer the most opportunities.
1. Health Care: Nursing, Physiotherapy, Bio Medical Technologies
In response to the tough economy, the new federal economic plan intends to generate more public sector employment. A major part of the recently announced US stimulus plan is new investment in health care reform. With a large percentage of the population aging, there is an increase in the number of nursing positions available, as both a result of retirement and a growing group in need of care. Experts predict that nursing and other related medical services for the elderly, like physiotherapy and biomedical equipment technology will be the most in demand occupations in the coming years.
2. Computer and Information Technologies
Other industries that will continue to grow and generate jobs are information technology and computer science. Almost every business in almost every industry uses computers and computer software programs for everything from marketing to payroll. Positions for network engineers, software programmers and communication specialists are growing faster than almost any other occupation.
3. Education
When it comes to choosing a career during the current economic climate, you can't get much safer than education. One result of the recession is that many people are opting to return to school to wait out the difficult job market. As college and university enrollment increases, so do the number of positions available for instructors. Also important are secondary and elementary school teachers to keep up with the growing demand for quality education. An increase in federal spending to re-educate the population helps secure teaching as a lucrative career choice.
4. Business Administration and Marketing
Business administration and marketing continue to attract the best and the brightest graduates in the field, and there is no shortage of demand for business professionals. However, whereas in the past an MBA and some good recommendations were enough to guarantee employment in the booming business sector, the changing economy now requires flexibility and innovation. Corporate leaders are interested in hiring people with marketing and business knowledge who can assess and respond to shifting marketplace demands and realities.
5. Environmental Science and Technology
Another expanding employment sector is powered by relatively new environmental initiatives. As we become more aware of the limitations of our traditional resources, both consumers and producers are exploring novel ways of manufacturing. Boosted by the recently announced energy plan by President Obama, green sector energy, fuel and development are all hot employment opportunities. Government investment in regulating technologies is creating more positions for environmental auditors and experts and other specialists, as well as innovative researchers and developers.
